Entry №005: the Eye of Gorynych. The three-headed serpent of Slavic legend is too vast for any page of the bestiary — so the record keeps only what the witness saw before running: one green slit-pupil eye, opening in the dark. If it is looking at you, the other two heads already know.
The eye is printed on both sides of the mug — it watches outward whichever hand you hold it in. Opposite the handle sits the catalogue plate in Russian, the original language of the bestiary: ГЛАЗ ГОРЫНЫЧА, entry number №005 and the artist name, VYASNA.
